[INFO] Iframe video HTML and Photo embed (High bandwidth topic)

Copy and pasting a sites procreated HTML code to embed a video in to post for this forum...

No HTML scripting skill required, just copy and paste the sites own created embed HTML in the share options of each site...

(Account status must be high enough per service provider to be enabled)

Failures ( will not work even with editing )

One drive (Tested it as requested by multi console user )

Twitter

Amazon cloud fails

Drop box fails

Gdrive fails

Twitch

Mixer

Working sites

With just using the share function which leads to the copy and paste section with the embed code on it

New Youtube site template...

Facebook - due to constant changes in template, the embed option has currently been moved to the Edit functions for your video.

( October 2018 Edit = PS4 browser now disabled from PC template and forced to mobile template only)

Daily motion... Use the arrow/paper plane icon

(October 2018 edit = Now DEAD to PS4 users as the PS4 no longer streams or uploads to daily motion...)

Vimeo.. lol works... kinda... realy restrictive when free...

Create your topic or reply

Once you have finished Entering All text and Images in to the post of the forum. You then move to the HTML/Source tab on the Forum rich text editor icon bar...

Copy and paste in the HTML code into place...

Then press Post/Reply...

Then the video shows... after the refresh of the topic by the forum server which can be needed for other users to see it...

And you are done... No need to know HTML script... As the sites create it for you...

(new images are wip)

Thanks for the tutorial on HTML but why is this in Feedback? I think it would get "more views" in General. Unless one of the mods moved it here then my guess is they dont want use knowing stuff like this so this place is a bland boreing crap hole and we all just leave.

That would be, because it's about the fourms, since it's not a playstation releated topic, the mods would just move it here if it was posted in the playstation general section.

Yea this is not really feedback... its a toutorial... and I personaly think it should be in games or services...

Yet it is Forum related... there is not a general section for that, just feedback...

Its in here primary because New users who read the forum templates hole home page will come to this section to post...

"I can't post a video on this forum"... or "how do i Post a video as i can post a picture here"

Those who create duplicate topics are not going to read a sticky or read a post or even use a seach function...

They will just fill up general sections with duplicate topics over and over during the month Pushing down any real information threads down to page 2 then page 3 as well as the common spam bots attacks that do the same un till deleted... they won't read this section ever... But others can now link to the page... as its still on the first page of the forum feed back...

Users who read more than the first page would be ok but many a user will not go beyond the first page or read a sticky topic to get help... with the Twitter and facebook generation they will not use a FAQ they won't read it at all...

They want to have there own topic and own help even if its been posted 1000s of times and in a FAQ they will still create duplicate topics and they will allways do so this make general section Useless as a help section its a playstation waffle section...

HUH? that was a confusing post GB...

I guess I should make a Picture posting thread as well... Do you not think this should be in services rather then forum feedback GraphieGB?

Maybe the Section should be labled Forum Stuff or info rather then just Forum Feedback?

    At Pat

NOPE This is the section users that read the titles of the section, will come too first as explained in the first section of the reply...

Those who read web pages will ask here as its the first section about the forum functions they will see...

When you do your guide to Photo hosting and embedding in forum don't forget to state that you don't even need to use the photo box option at all and how the Rich text editor can be used with the right click mouse menu and Keyboard commands in the rich text entry...

    @GraphiteGB

Ok cool, I see what you are saying... also... Ill make one up and post it here if you don't mind... maybe you can merge the post... I would have posted it in services, yet seeing that this is the only Fourm Specific area, I can understand why this might be a better area for the help on posting in the forums... Ill make it similar to yours and it could be a Video and Picture posting guide? Would that be ok with you...? Maybe a Forums Media guide?

For this guide I will be using Google Photos and CTRLQ.org for the image hosting because it is free and secure.

Photobucket went paid to use if you use to much bandwidth so it is no longer a good choice for the PS forums.

I no longer hold a Facebook account due to the privacy agreement changes a few years ago.

However you should be able to use the HTML embed code from facebook or any other site that allows Image Hosting in place of this method.

First Upload your Photo/Image to the Hosting Site.

Open https://photos.google.com/ in your browser. and navigate to your photo area.

After clicking on the upload button, choose the file (Photo/Image) you wish to upload. then Click Open.

After the File is uploaded to Google Photos, Click on it to Open the Photo/Image to full view.

In the top right hand corner Click on the Share button.

When the box opens click on the get link button.

When the next box opens click on the copy button.

Now open https://ctrlq.org/google/photos/ in your browser.

Right Click in the "Paste google Photo links Here" box and then choose paste, to place the link in the box.

Next Click on the Generate Code box.

It should automatically scroll down the page.

If it does not, just scroll down to the Google Photo Embed Code links

There are two links here... One is a Direct URL link and the other is HTML embed Code.

Depending on which of the following ways you are going to post, you will highlight then right click and copy the code.

You can simply place the Picture/Image into a post by writing the post and then clicking on the Image tab in the PS Forum post toolbox.

Use the highlighted and copied URL code link on the CTRLQ site and place it in the top box labled URL in the Image property box. Then Click ok.

Then then click Reply on the Post and the Post will have your Photo/Image in it.

You can also use the HTML Editor to post a Photo/Image.

Highlight, right click and copy the Image embed code on the QTRLQ site.

The Click on the HTML/source code tab on the PS Forums post toolbox.

(I usually hit the enter key at least 2 times before entering the HTML tab.)

Place the cursor in between two lines then right click and paste the code you copied. Then click on Reply.

Has anyone else noticed a limit on the amount of Pictures? I was only able to post 13 picutres in my post... I wonder if it is the same for Videos? (I am not sure why anyone would post 13 videos in one post yet still interesting to know... Due to this I might have to move the post to its own OP anyway :( althought they are very similar guide info posts so keeping them together would be better I think...

There is a limit on how much HTML Text can be used to create a post after conversion from rich text...

    Its not been announced...

Ive tested this before and got bored after just 30 images and just 25 videos in a single post

  • I put in 16 pictures from Google and it posted them just fine? Just go to Google images and works with that photbucket site, find your picture and right click with your mouse to copy it and then right click to paste it into this forum. All that above seems like a pain to do with the pictures...

I noticed the edit to the title, I'll remember you and that for the rest of my time on here tho do agree with the edit!

@GraphiteGB Ok cool, I see so its charactors in Text that is limited not the actual Videos and Photos, I understand now... I could have put more photos if I used tiny links rather then full links and no text (Which would not work well with a guide lol Unless all the text was held in the photos.)...  Thanks for letting me help with the guide btw... it will keep us from having to make another thread for similar info...

@fostermacation Yes Photobucket will work and so will any hosting site, however the problem with Photobucket now is they limit the bandwidth, so say you post here and 10,000 people view that photo... it will no longer work unless you pay hundreds of dollars a year to keep the link working... Also they have downsized the photos and no longer alow you to properly get your photos off the site with out bending over backwards... they also changed the TOS and in so many words state they own anything you upload to that site... they held peoples Family and Personal pictures hostage for money after claiming for years to be safe and secure and free... it was a crappy move on their part... very crappy...

Here is a link on the Bandwidth info...

    https://support.photobucket.com/hc/en-us/articles/200724504-Storage-Vs-Bandwidth-What-s-The-Difference-

I understand it might be a bit confusing with my method, however it is fully free, and self sufficiant with no need to have coding experiance or your own server...

    @pat

With facebook and twiiter being the Offical upload sites for PS4 it would be nice to add those as well to your guide but I don't use twitter at all so don't even know if they have bandwidth Limits when external sites read there files...

I know Face book links are only valid for a few <6 months and then facebook is able to disable external sites from Showing embeded images. many of the Post on Eu forum images are now gone... as Facebook killed the links... It should also be explained that allthough a grey area all these photo hosting services don't need any verification of your real details so you can just add junk names and location info... and use expendable email addresses...

If you use the Right click copy and paste an image method instead of HTML copy there can be issues with Safari as it uses local cache page info so just Pasting in the image can fail... fireFox does not follow Height scalling rules with copy and paste but ive done it for so offen for so long that needing a URL instead feels so slow...

    No automatic alt text available.

I closed out my Twitter and Facebook a long time ago... along with Myspace and many other social network sites...(It scares me that PS4 still has any connection with Facebook... it should be shut down as far as I am concerned due to the lack of real security it has and that it is now linked to local and federal offices... Big brother is watching... )

I do have G+ yet only because it is linked to my Youtube since Google bought them out...

I can not add the guides for the Facebook and Twitter stuff, yet any acutal hosting link should work as long as the link has not been moved or broken... maybe someone else in the community can add to the guide with those methods as well?

Also I should have included that my work was done with Chrome... Its been a long time since I used FireFox or Sifari... and I never use IE btw... I have dabbled with Opera yet it is not used much anymore...

Update = Youtube have a new GUI for embedded videos to test... don't panic if it looks wrong and won't play...

Changes are a foot on googles side... current it will not play in web page but will link to web site  instead... (6 march 2018) random users get new GUI..

If its the same on video above and your post then thats normal...

test to see if Images still copy and paste... with out issue but it looks like firefox still has issues with height scaling so the image height size and width needs manual setting ..
