NAT Type Failed - Playstation 4

Greetings all. I cannot connect my PS4 to my internet. It connects to the network but wont connect to the internet. I have called comcast, they were not helpful for 5 hours, wanting to charge me $80 to simply look at my network connection. Using Comcast, its DHCP, not PPPoE. I cannot get the NAT Type to say anything other than fail. I have reset the PS4 and the Router to default. Upgraded firmware on router (Cisco E2000) and still nothing. I am not running any firewall.

  • I just had the same issue it went from nat type 2 to failing.  However, do you think it is linked to the psn undergoing maintenance?

  • OK GUYS I FOUND A WAY AROUND IT

I went to settings and the top icon which looks like a life raft and i think i says support... that for some reason let me put in my login code and now my PS4 is ONLINE finally!!!

Please spread the word if this works for you... I looked forever for an answer and lucked into a system loophole i think lol...

That's weird, I'm on Comcast too but I am not getting any errors like that. I'm running a Netgear R6300 Router.

  • So my NAT type stopped working after increasing my firewall security. Try lowering your firewall security a level down on your router & it should work for you. I have Comcast.

  • Don't listen to all that crazines.. It can be as simple as your router's firewall being set to a high setting; that's was my issue. Hope this helps
