PS Now major flaw

I'm using Playstation now on pc for the past month now. Haven't had a lot of trouble except not recognizing my controller and I like the service.
A major flaw PS now has on pc only, is that some games take your account language and use it as the in game language.
I was playing Infamous second son and for the life of me couldn't change the language from dutch to english.

Seems it took my account language, so trying to find that option and change my account language it seems you can't change it, it's set in stone.
So now I'm stuck with the cringeworthy dutch language in Infamous and I refuse to play it that way.
I liked the service, but if I need to play all my games in dutch. I'm gonna stop after this month I guess.

The language of a game is determined by your accounts region, if your account is dutch, then your games will be from the dutch region as well. This is the same no matter what device you play the games on, or if you buy games in the PS stores, the game's language is determined by the region the game is for. They can't include all languages on a game, the file size would be way too big, so they set it based on the main languages  of that region.

  • I understand that, but that is pretty bad design if you ask me.

Can't think of a lot of people who want games to speak their own language instead of just english.

What if you are speaking a foreign language but live in the netherlands so you have a dutch account, you cant even understand anything and no option to change it.
It kinda is the standard in gaming to just change language in the game option or platform language, not the account region.

At least give us the option to change to main languages in the west: English, spanish, french

  • "Can't think of a lot of people who want games to speak their own language instead of just english." Really? I can't think of anyone who wouldn't want the game to be in their own language. There are several ways to handle living in a country where you don't speak the language, even on a gaming console. The best way, of course, would be to learn the language if you're going to be there for an extended stay.

As chaos_789 pointed out (and you apparently ignored), it would be impossible to include every language in a game.

"It kinda is the standard in gaming to just change language in the game option or platform language, not the account region"  It certainly is not the standard. Changing the region wouldn't change the game language, in any case, so that's irrelvant.
