Chao karate missing in Sonic adventure 2 on ps4

This is a bit of a strange issue. The version of sonic adventure 2 currently available on psnow on the ps4 is missing Chao karate. For the most part, the game features many of the things available in the game cube or "battle" version of the game, including the Chao stat box, Chao garden redesigns, black market, etc... even the Chao principal and the medical chart make references to karate, yet it is not available upon entering the cave. Also, if you click the "download content" button on the main menu of the game, it just makes it crash. If I need to do something to unlock it, please let me know.

  • Can someone please reply to this? I'm missing a part of this game that was included as "dlc" for the ps3, yet on the ps4 it is completely absent from the game and the store. Furthermore, pressing the "download content" button on the main page of the game causes it to crash. This game has pretty sizeable stat system for the chaos and one of the main reasons for that is because of the karate matches. Literally almost everything from the game is updated to the newer version, except for the absence of karate. If the dlc is unavailable, can't you just put the full 2002 gamecube version of the game with all the fancy 2002 features? I do pay monthly for this service and it's a bit crazy that I don't have the entire 15 year old game...

PlayStation Now games do not support DLC add-ons.  Everyone is playing the same install of the game, so it cannot be modified with add-ons.  PlayStation Now games generally do not include the DLC, although if there was a re-release of the game (Game of the Year Edition, etc.) that included all of the DLC, then that is typically the version used on PlayStation Now. All games on PlayStation Now are PS3 or PS4 games.  There won't be any GameCube titles on the service, and the games are unchanged from their PS3/PS4 release in terms of content.

  • That's honestly kind of ridiculous for a lot of reasons. First of all, the game currently available on psnow is primarily the "gamecube" version and includes 90% of the newer features. The Chao karate was forcibly removed by Sony and sold back to the consumer as dlc over 10 years after the game came out. The problem is that I own a ps4 and cannot access the same features as someone with a ps3, and therefore cannot access the "updates". Essentially, because I own the best system Sony has to offer, and pay a steep monthly price for psnow, I receive an unfinished game that was finished in 2002 and a big middle finger if I want the rest?

It has nothing to do with PlayStation Now, or any other part of Sony.  The game you got on PlayStation Now is the game that Sega decided to give you.  If you have a problem with that, then talk to Sega.

  • The fact that the dlc isn't supported and is completely unavailable on the ps4 is not up to sega, that's a Sony issue. I can't possibly fathom why ps4 would be less capable than the ps3 in terms of downloadable content. Also, for a "support MVP" you're not being very supportive. Nobody should pay hundreds of dollars and a monthly fee to basically be told "tough crap it's not my problem, deal with it"

Has there been any update on this? The game cannot be completed (Earning all emblems) without Chao Karate. Also 2 years later the game still crashes if you click "Download Content" in the options menu.
