VR cables length

Does anyone what type of cable from the headset to the main unit is?  I'm trying to figure out  if it's something that can be extended with off the the rack cables.  I can't sit close to the TV or PS4 and I want the cable to lay on the ground not stretched in the air.  The PS4 camera works fine at the distance I sit at.

Thanks

It comes with its own extension... Be aware you still have to stand in front of the camera... and thats very limited in cable length any way.....

  • Where can I get an extension cable for the headset to the processing unit?  Can I use 2 extension cables together to make it longer to 32 feet?  The 16 -feet  cable is not long enough for my living room setup.  Let me know.  Thanks.

keep in mind its has a max distance you can be, or the unit will say out of range (or a similar error)

  • Thanks for answering my question.

Do you know what is the maximum cable length we can have?  I need the cable to be longer because I need it to go around my living room so there will be no cable visible in the area.

Do you know where can I get an extra extension cable?  Let me know.  Thanks again.

I bought one in a best buy in San Francisco last year, so yes it can be bought in stores.
But there was no where to buy it in Canada, gootr to wait for my SF trip to find one...Now i need another one, i wish situation changed in Canada.

I need another one because one is permanently installed for my Racing Rig and the other one will be set in the home theater room aside, the PS4 is in between the two rooms.

I have a half baked solution.  I have 2 PS4's and got 2 camera extension cables and mounted both cameras on a selfie stick on a gimble which I bring down for the session and fold up afterwards.  Then I got 2 PS4 VR Extension cables from ebay as per following link.  This is so I can run them under a floor mat and to the normal sitting position for the couch etc..  This worked great for one unit which has a PS4 VR version 1, but the other one is version 2 and extension cable does not work.  I hate regression, looks like I need to find  means of downgrading.

    Camera extension cables

I rang support and the blank answer was you cannot extend the cable for the PS4 VR version 2

I really do not know why Sony make it so hard to deal with these things.Camera

Does anyone know if Sony have solved this yet?

I would like to run the cables around outside of room & from behind the sofa. I can't have them across the room
