Major streaming issues

It started a few days ago, at times things would play, pause, play, pause, and so on. Which seems to be problems with the streaming. I am not having issues on any other apps, Amazon video, Netflix, HBO, Showtime, etc. Amazon Fire TV. But all channels on PS Vue are having major latency. Today its really really bad. Shows pausing for minutes. changing channel leaves me at blank background as other channels cannot stream either. I have been closing the app via the Applications menu and clearing the cache. That seems to help at times. My internet connection is fine. I am not having any other issues with anything streaming or internet related. Just PS Vue. Having already closed app, cleared cache, and restarted FireTV a few times and it happening on more than one. Must be something with PS Vue service.

I have had Vue for almost 2 years. I have never seen issues like this. I hope it is only temporary and fixed ASAP. It is super annoying... Thank you!

  • Something must really be off, I hit submit and nothing happened. I almost filled out the form again. Till I saw my post showed up on the list. Despite not showing it was submitted. I had problems getting the form to come up to begin with. Seems Sony is having some systemic issues.

  • I am too having an issue while watching on my Roku TCL TV which is connected via ethernet. 

    I am attempting to watch NBC sports net philly and every 10 minutes or so, the screen goes black except for showing what channel its on and the loading indicator. When it does actually play, it is at about 200P and is super blurry/fuzzy. Quality is terrible. 

    I restarted app and TV multiple times, as well as checked my internet connection which is 120 Down/Up.

    @phillyBro23 Thank you for that information. When was the last time you uninstalled and then reinstalled the Vue application?

  • Same issue here. NBCSN goes dark every 10 minutes for a couple of minutes.

  • I thought I mentioned all steps, short of removing and reinstalling application. I have been going to Fire TV application menu, force stop, then clear cache. Sometimes I will restart the FireTV. That usually helps for occasional issues. What ever is going on is far worse. I have no issues with other streaming. Seems to be something with the PS Vue service. I am having issues on this site as well. No confirmation for both posts, and I had to hit the button more than once and nothing happened each time. But seems the posts did make it...

    @Thrilliac At this time I would like to request that you uninstall then reinstall the Vue application. I would also like you to do an internet speed test at fast.com and send me a Private Message with th results of that speed test. Thanks!

    I love when they ignore the fact that this is happening to multiple people, and pretend like it's the user's fault.  So if Thrilliac uninstalls and reinstall Vue on his PS4, that should fix it on my PS4 in a completely different state, right?  And the other hundreds of people complaining on all the forums on all different sites right now?

  • I'm also seeing major buffering issues on PS Vue (no other apps affected). PS Vue on FireTV, Chromecast are affected. I've tested connection, and it's > 200 MBPS to my devices. I've restarted both the wifi hub and the devices. I tried setting the display res on Fire TV. I've cleared cache and restarted the PSVue app on both devices.

    No improvement after any of these attempts to fix; stream buffers, freezes, and is nearly impossible to watch.

    Edited to add: just un/re-installed app. No improvement.

    PlayStation Vue..... This is a system wide problem!  Stop telling people to reboot their system or whatever.  Address the problem and fix it!

  • I am having the same issues.  While in Vue, the system keeps buffering or it states that there was a problem and needs to restart.  While watching other apps, I do not see these issues.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my Roku Ultra and it has not resolved the issue.  If this keeps up, may have to find a different steaming service or go back to an antenna.

  • Major issues.  We have had PS Vue for about 6 months and never had an issue.  Now on my Roku TV the PS Vue app wont play any DVR or on demand content.  Getting REALLY Frustrated.  Keeps saysing "Something wen twrong on our end and we need to restart"  Been doing this for at least 45 minutes.  Now its gotten worse.  Screen turns gray and nothign happens when I click and DVR content.  Yes have restarted and reibstalled app!

  • I have to say that it's very disappointing to have the subscription price increase, and the quality of the experience decrease. Once again, I'm shopping for an alternative service. Please fix this.

  • Arghh, I am using a new Sony TV with the Android TV and the Playstation Vue app...it is really frustrating that it pauses, glitches, skips back.  It is almost unwatchable. I have tried changing over to a Fire TV and it seems to run smoother, however, it sounds like people are having problems with those as well. SONY, update your apps/software...it IS the problem. Quit asking me to reinstall/hard reset my tv...every other app works fine. Do I need to work my way up the chain to the exec in charge of PS VUE that is telling Sony that "all is fine..." because it ISN"T. Sony TV side blames PS VUE while PS VUE says it must be the Android TV slowing it down.

  • Thankfully I’m not having a huge problem. Just the occasional pause/buffer. But I did want to offer a data point. I’m currently doing a trial of YouTubeTV (YTTV) running on the same streaming box as my PSVue, a 2017 Nvidia Shield. So using the same box, network, router, modem, isp, etc. watching exactly the same live tv channel I get an occasional pause/buffer using PSVue and absolutely no pause/buffer of any kind on YTTV. So the problem is clearly either the PSVue app itself or Sony’s infrastructure (which could include their Edge of Network partners). 

    So Sony, stop trying to blame others and fix your problem.

    Today my wife experienced issues with E! channel, where it would play the same section over and over.

    It plays.....block.....then reload the same segment, block....repeat....

  • Same issue just happened to me trying to watach a basketball on the SEC network.  The recording kept going back to the same point, and then the system would show that it was live, but then it would load more recording.  I had to start watching on the ESPN app.  I restarted the Apple TV and same problem.  I have never seen this before.

  • I am watching PlayStation Vue on my laptop and am having the isuue of the video constantly lagging then jumping to catch up to audio.  It's pretty much unwatchable at this point. It is only happening on Vue's streaming service. Netflix is still running fine.

  • i too am having streaming issues but only on the shield, im also using a roku 3 which is working fine, no buffering, 

    i have restarted, forced stop, and cleared cache and nothing has helped.

  • I am streaming on an Apple TV. NBC keeps freezing along with abc. I just started service to try it for a month. I wanted to switch from directv. This lack of addressing the problems makes me consider staying with directv. Sony just admit something is wrong with your service and fix it.

  • Using the app on Fire TV, nothing is working at all.  Getting the "It's not you, it's us" when the timeline tries to load, and everything else is just a blank screen.  I force stopped and cleared data and cache but the problem persists.

  • I'm having all these same issues. I hate that I have talked up PS Vue to all my friends only to have this happen!

  • there it is... supports only response and fix for the issue..... "have you uninstalled and reinstalled the app?" Thats all the tech people can EVER come up with. Its not us, its not the app, its your crappy servers and complete lack of understanding. Ive complained for a year now about all the streaming issues, VOD not playing issues, DVR error issues, etc and its ALWAYS the same response. YES, IVE REINSTALLED THE APP, and NO, IT DOESNT FIX THE ISSUE of crappy servers or issues on your end. And once again, using ROKU 2 and PLAYSTATION 4 to stream. I have fiber 150mbps up/down, no issues with anything else that streams in my house... NONE, just with VUE.

    you won't fix the major issues with your service, but you will sure as hell start charging people more money to use a service thats broken. Thats why Im canceling your service and moving to one that cares about its customers...

  • Same issues on my Playstation 3. The guide is displaying every possible channel, includingl local channels from other markets, none of my shows are actually DVRing, and the service is extremely slow and freezes up. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, my internet speed is over 150mbs with no issues on other services. 

    I've spoken with PS support and they asked me to install/reinstall again, and then informed me that there was serious issues with the app that they were aware of and would be working to fix it, with no time line as to when it might get better. 

    This is a major Playstation issue. Even these forums are running extremely slow.
