VUE Shutting down; where's everyone going?

Curious the services people will now go to with Vue shutting down for good.

  • Vue was the only streaming live tv service I liked. Back to DirecTV.

  • Like a lot of others, I'll switch to YoutubeTV.  Since neither Youtube or Hulu offer Hallmark, I was happy to discover that all three Hallmark channels are available on frndlyTV for only $5.99 a month.  That's a price I'm willing to pay for the mystery movies.

  • I'm considering fubo TV Family+fubo Extra for $65.98/mo to replace my current PS Vue Elite package $64.99/mo.  This fubo package has everything the Elite package has plus AMC, Comedy Central, History &MTV.  I plan to try it for a week.  Does anyone have any experience/comments of fubo TV?

  • @kittykat5709 be careful with Directv. They're changing their package options now that HBO Max is part of their new package lineup. Right now I think ATTTV has about 6 package options. Some do and some don't include HBO so if you go to ATTTV choose package wisely.

  • Still looking, no one service is a direct replacement at any price.  Fubotv comes close, family plan + extras, but no local abc (in fact, appears no abc anywhere in the country).  Now I have hulu, so all abc network programs with a host of others, and the abc news app has all the free news, so maybe.... but by the time you add the + extras, 500 hour (from 30) dvr, and 3 screens you're up to $75+/month.  Yikes.

My multi subscription choice is youtubetv (I did the 2 week freebie a while back) joined with philo, but still no nfl network but does have mlb network (but I'm a long time subscriber to the stand alone mlb at bat).  Of course, nfl season will be over by the time psvue goes dark, and I get most thursday games on Prime...  maybe something will come out of the woodwork.

So still looking, maybe when vidgo comes out of the gate it will give more options.

  • I just did a two week trial with YouTube TV, the picture quality is just not where I need to be. The search goes on.

  • I'm looking at Fubo.

  • YouTube TV - it works SO MUCH BETTER with Roku than PS Vue has been lately.

  • Did I miss an update or something?

Watching NCIS on Pop channel at 9:39pm and a Playstation Vue commercial came on advertising the service.

Why would they advertise if shutting down?

  • I honestly have no fn clue what I'm doing.  I read thru all 35 or so comments & either hulu or YouTube don't work right or they are awesome,  I have no idea who's right or wrong. I stream thru my ps4, I'm not buying another device so I'm f***ed until/unless Sony allows hulu / YouTube to stream live tv. I say this jokingly,  I don't care about the hallmark channel so that's not a dealbreaker for me.  But im not paying cable tv prices for streaming tv service.  This is the reason there was the "cut the cord" revolution now these services are getting up to the same prices as cable.  WE ALL LEFT TO... NOT... PAY OUTRAGEOUS PRICES... these services aren't getting there fuckn clue. It's already a failed experiment they just keep raising prices of subscriptions.

Once again not sure what the heck I'm going to do

  • Been with YouTube for about a month and very happy with the service. I'm also streaming with a Amazon FireTv and zero bufferring unlike PSVue.

    Highly recommmended.

  • its sad i didnt find out what was going on until something came up on the google homepage from a sight called cordcutters.com. The biggest problem had with psvue was no communication with the customers. Sony had a good thing going on and the only thing they had to do was change the name and run more commercials about vue and let people know you do not need a playstation to use the service. How hard was that? I'm in the wash dc area so im using the xfinity x1 streaming service. Its ok and to me its better then sling, hulu, and the rest of them. the only thing its a little more in cost, some he of the channels you have with vue like the nfl network, epix, boomerang, you have to pay extra because its not in there bundle package. I just wish there was a service like vue where the customers can pick and choose the channels they want to watch. I think sony is making a big mistake and from what i beeen reading whoever they sell the vue too has to put there apps on the the ps4.

  • Huge thank you to Playstation for adding YouTube TV to their lineup!

  • Almost 3 months of YTTV and very happy.  Have watched tons of college and NFL football with maybe a half dozen few second buffers.  They keep making small improvements

and I'm almost as satisfied as I was with PSVue.  I run on 5 Roku(4 Sharp-1 Insignia) TVs with 3 Firesticks for backup(very seldom use these as YTTV now will FF on most all DVR'd

shows).  For $53.36(Tax Included) with over 70 channels that is copacetic in my book.

PS-I also get the 4 major local networks.
